While consulting on a project for a luxury hotel, the general manager, said that he wanted to introduce me to his girlfriend who ran an online blog.

The moment we met, I knew this was the answer. That I would now stop working physically with clients, offline in their business. I would build an online brand.

We met and I convinced her to host a seminar with me in Saint Lucia. She knew a lot about inbound marketing and her blog had over 1 million visitors every month. She was ranked Top 30 in the world in her niche.

This moment opened me up to the possibility of doing what I did offline, online.

Our event was a success and I think we both learned a lot from each other because now she is a consultant in addition to having her blog and I created a blog and online coaching/consulting brand.

I learned everything I could about online marketing from the world’s best because together with my luxury brand-building work, I knew it would make all the difference.

Since then, I have been able to create a brand with clients from around the world in ways that would not have been possible without the Internet. I had success in my first business, but often we can question, ”can I create it again” and today I can tell you, YES YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN if you are ready to commit and invest time and money required to making it happen.

At my retreat in Milan last year, I was near tears as two women who were from the Caribbean told me how their life has changed because they met me. I am not saying this to brag but to say that I never realized that one decision could create this domino impact.

These women said if they saw someone in the US with a successful online business they would think, yes it is possible in America but though I travel very frequently, I spend 8-9 months a year in the Caribbean. I had to be there to show others what is possible regardless of where you are in the world.

Focus: I always say to my clients, find your one thing. The thing that you know for sure you can deliver RESULTS on and sell that one thing, scale that one thing and then use your authority in that thing to build your empire of things that you are passionate and great at. Lack of focus is one of the key sources of failure in the business long term. It takes a lot of discipline when you are a creative person to stay focused, but you will reap the rewards.

Le Creneau™: Don’t enter a niche market, create your own market. It is hard to stand out when you are doing or offering what everyone else is offering. This is why I help my clients turn their niche into a profitable Le Creneau. I really believe this is one of my superpowers. Being able to see when an idea can work, the bigger picture, the opportunities for growth and expansion by going NARROW and THEN DEEP into relatively VIRGIN but very PROFITABLE terrain.

There are times when clients come to me when it is almost too late. They have invested a lot of time and money building something that is not scalable or long term profitable.
